This blog will be about one of my best friends: my dog, Cosmo. After looking through many blogs to help me figure out what to write about, there were a few that really inspired me for my blog. One is a blog by Courtney Perry. She talks about how after developing an allergy to dolphins, one of her favorite things in life, she was devastated. But when her husband got her a Labradoodle, it changed her life drastically and she felt as much love for the dog as she did for the dolphins she use to spend so much time with. This inspires me to write about my love for my dog and how he has changed and will change my life in the future. It reminded of how special Cosmo really is to me.
In the next blog I read, Mary Wisniewski writes about a retired US Army Sargent, Justin Madore, and his dog, Cody. Madore suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, and Cody, a Labradoodle, will be there to wake him up from nightmares. This blog made me realize how smart dogs really are and how they are very connected with human beings- especially their owners. Although my dog is not a dog trained in any way to help with medical conditions, I know he is always there to cheer me up and make me feel better. There's an amazing connection between a dog, how they know their master is feeling, and how they react.
The last blog that I read about was about new parents, Benjamin and Hope Jordan, who had recently moved and needed a new babysitter for their son. They hired a young lady who had a clean background. For about five months, their dog had really shown to become protective of the baby, and they soon realized they needed to investigate. The parents found out that the lady they hired was abusing the child. I find this amazing that dogs can show so much emotion of protection that humans can understand it. Not only can they show emotion and take action, but they know they should. This dog new that the babysitter was bad, and he acted upon it. Although I don't my dog hasn't had to do anything like this, I know just from people coming to my house and Cosmo barking, that he cares for my family and me and wants to protect us. I'll be sure to include some blogs, sometimes funny ones, of my dog being protective and caring.
